Chiang Mai is very popular province in Thailand for its tourist attractions and culture. As Chiang Mai is rich of culture, temple is one of the hi-light tourist sites. Then Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep will be talked about this time…
Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep is one of the most famous Buddhist shrines in the North.
We can see a whole heart city of Chiang Mai with our bird's eye view here.
Doi Suthep is only seventeen kilometers drive from the city up a road. Then we have to climb some two hundred steps up the naga stairway if prefer to boost energy, or take an electric tram to the temple if don’t want to be tired. The view across Chiang Mai City and the valley will make us feel great and makes the tired climb worthwile. Inside the temple, cloisters painted with bright murals depicting the previous lives of the Buddha and filled with Buddha statues, enclose a marble floored area in the middle of which rises up a glorious golden chedi. People can pay respect and make their wishes for good luck. Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep can be seen from everywhere in Chiang Mai. We can take Song Taew or mini local bus up to the mountain.
If you have a chance to visit Chiang Mai, should not miss to visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep!
